How many times have you had a product idea only to see someone else on a 30-minute infomercial promoting YOUR idea?
Whether you want to create an innovative product or provide an unusual service, organizing your ideas is key to seeing your vision come to pass. ideasandmind
Facebook is the most lucrative social networking site on the planet with more than 300 million active users worldwide and a value of more than $1 billion. But before Facebook even had one user, its founders had an idea.
They had to organize their idea in order for it to unfold into one of the most successful companies in the world.
You, too, can organize your ideas into a profitable business.
Sometimes we get excited about an idea and can’t stop brainstorming on ways to make it come to pass. Ideas feed on this excitement and momentum.
The first step is to write your idea. How many times have you had an idea that you forgot about? Writing your idea on paper gets the wheels moving. It also keeps your idea at the forefront of your mind and lets you brainstorm ways in which the idea can come to fruition. I have a notebook that I dedicate especially for the writing of my ideas. Some of my most successful events and ideas started in this notebook.
Second, let the idea marinate in your mind. Think about your idea because not all ideas are created equal. This could be a couple of hours for an idea that excites you. Or it could be a number of days for an idea that is in the process of forming in your mind. ideashackers
You want to let the idea soak in your brain juices for a while because some ideas sound better in your head than they do when you actually start to act them out. Some ideas could be just a passing thought, while other ideas could lead to a healthier bank account. You never know which idea is the one that could make your wealth gain weight so give all of your ideas a chance. Nonetheless, the amount of time you let the idea waddle in your head depends on your level of enthusiasm and vision.
However, before you give your idea way too much thought, research it.
One night, a friend and I were brainstorming product ideas. We came up with an idea for a foot scrubber that exfoliated and massaged a person’s foot while he/she sits in a tub. We spent hours coming up with the product concept, marketing ideas, and even some possible product drawings.
When we researched the product with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office the next day, someone already had a patent for the same exact product. Figures!
Even though we had a great time coming up with the product concept, we could have moved on to the next idea had we spent the time to research the product.
Once you are convinced that you have a good idea in your hands, begin making a list of action steps that you need to take in order to make your idea a reality.
Finally, prioritize your list of action steps. Each day, be sure to perform at least one of the items on your list.
The founders of Facebook are creative and business geniuses with a billion-dollar idea. Turn your ideas into profits by organizing your thoughts into action steps.
